Belles and Gals Showcase Spotlight #4 – Georgia Barker

It’s the fifth Belles and Gals showcase on Sunday, our regular event at the iconic Water Rats venue in London. The showcase is a Nashville style in the round event, featuring four female singer songwriters. The event on Sunday features Hannah Paris, Megan Rose, Georgia Barker and host Shannon Hynes and we’re spotlighting one of the artists every day – today it’s Georgia Barker!

Georgia Barker is an artist that came to our attention at the start of this year, when we caught a video of her playing online, which led us to grabbing an interview as part of an ‘introducing’ piece. In the interview I asked her who she was influenced by – 

‘Definitely Taylor Swift, she introduced me to modern Country music as a teenager and I’ve always loved her lyrics. Dolly Parton is definitely one of my main influences alongside Kacey Musgraves and the amazing Luke Combs. There are so many I could list but those are definitely my favourites.‘

In listening to Georgia, she has an almost timeless quality to her voice, and I’m as excited as anyone to see her play live for the first time. Georgia will be making the trip down to London from near Manchester!
