April Jai – ‘Back Again’ Out Today
Today see’s the release of ‘Back Again’ the new single from April Jai. Back in 2017, we reviewed April’s debut EP ‘The Last Goodbye’, stating ‘Before listening to this E.P. I’d never heard a track from April Jai, but now I have, I’m already a firm fan. A fantastic debut.’. It was therefore hugely interesting to hear the new single from the Scottish London based singer songwriter.
In ‘Back Again’ April shows off her soulful voice and emotive voice delightfully, in a track that tackles mental health issues and sends a message of hope – it’s a real timely song and many will connect with the message it sends. As a first single back after her debut EP it shows an amazing promise and I can’t wait to hear more from April.
April Jai wrote on social media today:
‘This song is so special to me and was written when I was coming out of a really dark time. Anxiety is not talked about enough in any creative industry because we’re supposed to be happy for being able to do what we love. I just want to come on here and say it’s okay to not feel okay sometimes. Don’t feel guilty if you’re on your 5th episode of @greysabc (Greys Anatomy) in a row or if you need a break from social media all together. We’re not robots and you’re allowed to feel things.

About April Jai
April Jai is a Scottish Country/Pop Artist currently residing in London, UK. After moving away from Scotland at 7 years old, April spent her childhood and teenage years growing up in Bruges, Belgium.
Although April’s love of music has always been present in her life, it was during April’s high school years where she began to teach herself how to play the guitar and it was this that sparked her love of songwriting. Having found her voice, but also a lack of opportunity in Belgium, April was accepted into Edinburgh Napier University’s Popular Music program despite having no formal music education. It was during this time, where April learned to hone her unique blend of blues, country and pop styles.
Shortly after graduation, April moved south to London where she began writing and recording her debut 5 Track EP. “The Last Goodbye” which was released in October 2017 and landed the #2 spot on the iTunes Country Chart where it received critical acclaim and glowing reviews:

Following the success “The Last Goodbye’s” release, April spent the majority of 2018 and 2019 performing at gigs and festivals across the UK and Europe as well as opening up for international artists such as Sarah Darling, Angel Snow and others. Since then, April has spent the end of 2019 preparing for her next release of music which is due to be out in early 2020.
