Matt Spracklen Shares Debut Single ‘Run’

Not content with being a successful radio host for one of the UK’s leading dedicated country station: Country Hits UK, and TV judge – Matt Spracklen can now add singer/songwriter to his seemingly endless talents.

This past Friday, Matt shared his debut single titled ‘Run’ – the track is a soulful rock tinged offering that showcases his soft country vocals and powerful delivery.

His debut release has been a long time coming as he calls Music City; Nashville his second home and grew up with country music constantly playing around the house.

Speaking about his country roots and love of Nashville, Matt Spracklen says: “I have dear friends and a lot of memories made there. It also strengthened my love of country music. I grew up listening to Dad play Emmy-Lou Harris, Garth Brooks, Roy Orbison etc and country has always been in my blood.” 

‘Run’ has been produced by Sam Miller (Paloma Faith, Razorlight, VANT) and is very much given a fantastic overlay of perfectly honed sonic style.

The song is a stunning lyrical story about being there for one another and recognising when you see the struggle within someone and just being there for them when it’s needed. Solidarity is the main theme running throughout.

Talking about the track, Matt says: “The song is a reflection of what I see in someone’s eyes when they feel the same pain I’ve felt. I can sense these things. It’s about intuition in friendship and accepting that we can go through these things together.“

Matt Spracklen will no doubt become a major cog of the ever-growing UK country music scene as a performer thanks to his laid back personalty and standout vocal ability – get ready to see him playing live across the country very soon.
