Canadian country artist Shae Dupuy is quickly becoming one of the most recognizable voices in her home country and now Nashville and the wider country community are starting to take notice of her soaring, power vocals thanks to the release of her US debut single ‘Hesitate’.
The track has been produced by GRAMMY-nominated Nashville based musician, Derek Wells (Dolly Parton, Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton, Maren Morris), and gives an honest and forthright take on what a woman really wants to hear from her significant other.
Already a well-recognized singer-songwriter in Canada, Dupuy, has been splitting her time between Nashville and her home territory, Toronto, Ontario, over the last two years so that she can truly focus her efforts on writing and recording new music. ‘Hesitate’ is her first single release in three years, and is her debut US release.
The song is a standout toe-tapping whimsical offering about the nuances of a new lover, talking about the track, Shae Dupuy says: “I was starting to get frustrated with a guy I was dating, who was hesitating and holding back. I’m a very straightforward person, and that’s what I look for in people that I date. So, this song is me telling a guy to stop dancing around it and to say what he wants to say.”
This is the first taste of new music off Shae’s forthcoming project which she has been working on since moving to Nashville to immerse herself in the city’s expansive songwriting scene. The Canadian artist has written a catalog of songs for her forthcoming full-length LP, as well as tracks for other artists whilst living in Tennessee and is one of the most exciting talents within Music City.
