Alexis Taylor – “Cool with That” Single Review
Nashville based singer/songwriter Alexis Taylor originally hails from Huntsville in Ontario and has been causing a flurry on the country scene over the last few years with her songwriting and award winning vocals (Tennessee Music Awards 2018). As you might expect Alexis was influenced in her younger days by Canadian artists such as Shania Twain and Avril Lavigne and says these influenced her early style of writing and her developing music style.
Alexis released her latest single “Cool with That” shortly after returning from her recent Mission Trip to Guatemala and it’s a perfect antidote and escape from the present lockdown situation with its up-tempo, summery, feel-good vibe.
Alexis says, “It is a fun, flirty song that is about that relationship where it doesn’t matter what you do, you just love being around that person.”
The straight-talking lyrics describe a day in the life of this relationship and one I think most listeners can relate too. If you can’t relate you may want to try it sometime.

for why you haven’t left your bed all afternoon,

I’ll cancel all my plans
Boy I’m cool with that”
The intro and first verse come in with a stripped back acoustic vibe with banjo and percussion moving to a fuller chorus with a touch of sunshine and light. This toe tapping single from Alexis has been given an upbeat light-hearted and hooky feel with production by John Willis in Nashville. If you are looking for a soundtrack for summer drives and whiling the day way with the one you love this single is for you.
Alexis is thankful for the support of her family and inspired by Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert, their talent for singing, songwriting and performing and how they are forging the way for and supporting other female artists in the Country music to access opportunity and airplay. 2019 saw Alexis opening for The Marshall Tucker Band and performing at the USO Armed Forces Gala in Seattle, as well as her own gigs around North America. Missing the live performance opportunities right now Alexis is focusing on her writing and new music.
