MaRynn Taylor Releases Debut Single ‘Dads and Daughters’

Released today is this heart-warming single from, MaRynn Taylor, one of the newest and youngest signings from Nashville’s Black River Entertainment label. Originally from Rockford, Michigan, the 18 year old MaRynn was signed to the label in November 2019 – live on air during an interview with Bill Cody of 650 AM WSM Radio on Coffee, Country and Cody.

MaRynn’s debut single Dads and Daughters charts the birth of a daughter and the developing relationship between the father and daughter. It tenderly describes that familiar journey where a parent goes from anticipation and delight at the birth of a child through the anxiety about how you are going to relate to the new born in your life and finally the joy of finding your feet in the unique bond that is formed. As with any relationship the road is not always smooth, as she sings:

they go together like boats and water, they’re meant for each other,

in wind and waves they’ll sail away from the storm and make it to shore

The stripped back production of the track is ideal for showing us MaRynn’s beautiful vocals and songwriting ability. The light drums and acoustic guitar are complimented as the song builds to the bridge with strings and male backing vocals. The track manages to invoke a wistful and nostalgic atmosphere showcasing MaRynn’s youthful but rounded tones perfectly.

The release is accompanied by an official video, a montage of MaRynn’s family home videos and photographs as they welcome the baby into the world and we see the relationship with her father growing over the years even supporting her in her music.

A good first introduction to MaRynn and her music and a lovely track for upcoming Father’s Day. I look forward to hearing much more from this emerging Nashville artist over the coming months.
