Hailey Whitters Announces “Live In Studio Session Series”

2020 continues to be a very busy and exciting year for Nashville based Hailey Whitters despite the obvious restrictions put on her career by the current pandemic. Last week she was awarded the AIMP Nashville Rising Artist-Writer Of The Year, which of course follows on from her self-releasing her sophomore album ” The Dream” in recent months to much critical acclaim including being named one of the ” Best Albums of 2020 ( So Far) ” by American Songwriter and Paste Magazine. Originally released on her own Pegasus Records label, she since announced a new partnership with Big Loud Record/Songs and Daughters, Nashville’s first-of-its -kind female-driven label formed by award winning songwriter Nicolle Galyon, which you may remember us writing about at the time.
And there is now news of more music to come from the Iowa native with the recent announcement of a ” Live In Studio Session Series ” , five performances by Hailey and her band which have been recorded in the studio and which are to be released at weekly intervals.
Talking about the project, Hailey says ” I miss the road and my band immensely. The Live In Studio Sessions were a way for us to all regroup and play music together ( safely socially distancing, of course) . With COVID-19 disrupting touring, we also saw this as an opportunity to deliver these songs in a live setting to fans. I hope it helps curb the ache for live music during this strange time”.
The first in this series is available now, a gorgeous reworking of the album track ” Dream, Girl” …..” We chose to make it piano-driven while still maintaining some of the 80s guitar elements. It took on a whole new dimension and depth”…… Hailey explains. There’s no information about which other four songs will be upcoming, but if this first one is anything to go by we are in for a real treat!
