Introducing Rod + Rose : Debut Single “Being Here, Being There” Out Now

Already established names individually on the country music scene, and husband and wife for the past eight years, Rose Falcon and Rodney Atkins have been singing side by side for many years, share two sons and co-wrote several tracks for Rod’s latest album “Caught Up In The Country” .

And they have now joined creative forces in an official capacity as duo Rod + Rose, with their debut single “Being Here, Being There, released last Friday via Curb Records, a perfect example of how two people coming from different places can complement one another in more ways than one!

Rose was born in New York City, and raised by her musician father after tragically losing her mother to cancer when Rose was only five years old. They relocated to Nashville when Rose was ten, and she was inspired to write poetry and then songs having felt out of place throughout her school years. She signed her first record deal aged just 15 and released her debut album a few years later . Over the years she has had songs recorded by artists including Faith Hill (“Give Into Me” for the film “Country Strong“) and Lady A (“Friday Night” which was also recorded by Eric Paslay, providing him with a number one on the media based county chart).
Tennessee native Rodney is one of Country music’s most prominent artists, with eight top 5 singles, six No.1s (including the platinum selling “Watching You“) and 1.1 Billion career on-demand streams under his belt. He began playing guitar at events and festivals whilst at high school, and after graduating began writing himself, moving to Nashville in the mid ’90s to pursue a recording career. He signed with one one the world’s leading independent music companies Curb Records soon afterwards and continues to work as a solo artist, his latest single release being this year’s “A Little Good News“.

Rod + Rose’s first offering, given an exclusive world first play last week by Bob Harris on his BBC R2 Country show, merges Atkins’ lean lyricism with Falcon’s pure poetry , resulting in a sound that’s steeped in country and roots. The duo’s harmonies intertwine his signature grit with her feminine charm which may be an unlikely sounding combination but work perfectly ….

Penned by the couple alongside Phil Barton and Seth Mosley, Rod explains that this timely release  “is about being, and having, that friend who celebrates with you during the highs and isn’t afraid to get in the trenches with you during the lows. We recently went through a year of feeling like there were way more lows than highs, and when you go through one difficult scenario after another, you begin to question everything. It can be hard to see the light at the end of there tunnel, but if you can have that person you can count on to walk through life with you, it’s a game changer“. He adds “we know how lucky we are to have each other, now more than ever“.
Rod + Rose will be sharing more new music in the months to come, meanwhile you can stream or purchase  “Being Here, Being There” here
