For 3 jars
-
White grapes
1 kg
-
Apple
250 g
-
Juice of one lemon
-
Sugar
700 g
Preparation
-
1
Remove the grapes from the stems and wash them. Put them in a jam pot or a large, wide pot rather than a tall one, with a little water (about half a glass). Let them burst, which takes about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then pass the grapes through a food mill using the finest grid available. -
2
Put the resulting grape juice back into the pot (after optionally removing any residual seeds), along with the sugar and lemon juice. -
3
Peel and grate the apples using the same grater you would use for grated carrots. Add them to the grape juice. -
4
Bring to a boil and cook for about 30 minutes, stirring often. -
To finish
Pour the hot jam into jars and immediately seal with the lid. Turn the jars upside down to create an air vacuum: this will sterilize them with heat.
