For 3 jars

  • White grapes

    1 kg

  • Apple

    250 g

  • Juice of one lemon

  • Sugar

    700 g

Preparation

  1. 1
Remove the grapes from the stems and wash them. Put them in a jam pot or a large, wide pot rather than a tall one, with a little water (about half a glass). Let them burst, which takes about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then pass the grapes through a food mill using the finest grid available.
  2. 2
Put the resulting grape juice back into the pot (after optionally removing any residual seeds), along with the sugar and lemon juice.
  3. 3
Peel and grate the apples using the same grater you would use for grated carrots. Add them to the grape juice.
  4. 4
Bring to a boil and cook for about 30 minutes, stirring often.
  5. To finish

Pour the hot jam into jars and immediately seal with the lid. Turn the jars upside down to create an air vacuum: this will sterilize them with heat.
