“The Bear” has made a surprise return — in a unique way.
As fans eagerly await the fifth (and possibly final) season, FX and Hulu have unexpectedly released a prequel episode of the series today, May 5.
Emmy award-winning actors Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Jon Bernthal took to Instagram to unveil “Gary,” a prequel episode that captures a work journey of their “Bear” characters to Gary, Indiana.
In their shared announcement, they expressed their excitement about sharing this special episode with viewers, showcasing their characters Richie and Mikey. Both actors, who are also currently featured in “Dog Day Afternoon” on Broadway, collaborated to write this episode.
The official synopsis of the episode reveals that it delves into the intricate dynamics between the two friends, shedding light on new aspects of Mikey’s (played by Bernthal) psychological state and providing essential insight into Richie’s (played by Moss-Bachrach) character as initially introduced in Season 1. This adds a deeper emotional layer that reshapes their narrative from the start.
