The celebrated singer conveyed this significant health update through an Instagram Reel on Thursday, with the jubilant caption: “RESULTS ARE IN AND I AM CANCER FREE .”
“I cried for hours and then finally breathed a sigh of relief for the first time in a whole year,” the artist behind the hit “Price Tag” expressed to her fans.
Documenting the Journey
In her post, Jessie J captured moments from her yearly medical examination, admitting she was extremely nervous. “Actually s–tting” herself, as she put it.
“Time for my MRI,” the 38-year-old Grammy nominee stated while displaying the IV in her arm. “Just pretending I’m not claustrophobic,” she added.
She described the process of a breast MRI, where one must lie on their stomach and extend “your arms in the air like Superman.” Jessie voiced her hopes prior to the scan, “Fingers crossed [that it’s] all good, all good.”
Closing her update with a positive note, she sang a line from Bob Marley’s “Don’t Worry About a Thing.”
Celebrity friends rushed to congratulate her in the comments section. Rita Ora responded with, “What a joy. .” Joss Stone called Jessie an “inspiration” and “so strong,” while Lauren Jauregui exclaimed, “YAYYY!! Congrats mamaaaa!!!”
Reflecting on Her Battle
In June 2025, Jessie first publicized her breast cancer diagnosis and her subsequent mastectomy on social media.
“Cancer is dreadful in any form, but I’m clinging to the word ‘early,'” she stated in an Instagram video at that time, explaining her decision to go public was driven by the continuous support from her fans.
“You have supported me through all my ups and downs,” Jessie remarked. “And I want this to be no different.”
By August, Jessie — who in 2023 welcomed her son Sky, now aged 3, with boyfriend Chanan Colman — shared her post-operative progress.
“I’m still deep in recovery, and my body is adjusting,” she wrote online. “But I LOVE music and I LOVE my life and I want to LIVE every moment.”
At that point, her focus was on “just going with the flow of life” and “discovering who [she is] as a mother,” even when her “health takes an unexpected turn.”
Additionally, Jessie faced another health scare during her “No Secrets” Tour in March while in Hangzhou, China. After a severe incident where she thought she had broken her neck, Jessie underwent an urgent MRI. Fortunately, she was given a clean bill of health by the doctors.
