The philanthropic branch of the Miami-based padel club, Reserve Cares, is organizing its first-ever Moonlight Open at Reserve Miami Seaplane this Friday.
This fundraising event is dedicated to professional padel player Charlie Moon, who is currently fighting leukemia. The event will raise funds for patients at the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Charlie Moon: A Testament to the Power of Padel
“Padel has truly been a lifesaver for me—it has provided me with strength, purpose, and a sense of community through my toughest struggles,” Moon shared with Page Six.
Moon, who has already overcome cancer four times and is now facing it again, added, “Every day is a precious gift. When I’m playing, I don’t focus on whether I win or lose—I’m just thankful to be able to play and be alive.”
Boich, along with professional padel players Agustín Tapia, Ale Galán, Arturo Coello, and Juan Martín Díaz, aim to collect $1 million to support cancer research and treatments at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Significant Financial Support and Fundraising Initiatives
Sources indicate that with support from Beckham, Wade, Kevin Love, and other major contributors, the foundation has already secured over $800,000.
In addition to the event, an online silent auction has been set up to further boost fundraising efforts.
“This event is set to be a remarkable evening filled with padel, community engagement, and philanthropy,” Beckham announced in a video promoting the event on his Instagram Story on Thursday.
