Chosen to grace the cover of Vogue’s August 2025 issue, Anne Hathaway dazzled during a photo shoot at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, showcasing a daring ensemble that revealed quite a bit of skin in one of the photographs.
The star was dressed in a top by Givenchy, designed by Sarah Burton, which was adorned with an array of gemstones and offered minimal coverage.
At 42, the veteran of “The Devil Wears Prada” went without a bra, complementing the ornate top with simple black trousers and an eye-catching Bvlgari High Jewelry ring.
Celebrity hairstylist Orlando Pita was responsible for her tousled brunette locks, and makeup artist Gucci Westman enhanced her look with subtle makeup and prominent eyebrows, accentuating her youthful appearance.
Styled by Tabitha Simmons for the rest of the shoot, Hathaway was enveloped in luxury with several outfits from Givenchy, including a black and white blazer dress and a textured bra top paired with a skirt adorned with a bow.
On the magazine cover, the mother of two exuded sophistication in a floral high-neck sleeveless blouse.
Fans quickly reacted to Vogue’s Instagram post of the shoot. One admirer commented, “Miranda would be proud of you ,” referencing the iconic character Miranda Priestly, played by Meryl Streep, from “The Devil Wears Prada.”
Another follower humorously remarked, “Florals for spring…… Groundbreaking,” echoing a famous line from the same film. Additionally, another fan alluded to Hathaway’s role in “The Princess Diaries,” calling her “The people’s Queen (of Genovia).”
In the interview accompanying the photo shoot, Hathaway discussed her role in the upcoming film, “Mother Mary,” which blends elements of fashion and music.
Hathaway, who plays a pop star in this dramatic film, admitted that this role was perhaps her most demanding yet.
Talking about her initial reactions to the script and her character in the David Lowery-directed film, Hathaway shared, “You can’t just ‘perform’ Mother Mary. If I was to take on this role, I needed to become a canvas that David could sculpt.”
She explained how she embraced the challenge of learning anew, stating, “It’s about accepting you’re a novice. It’s humbling to come in each day knowing you might fail, but that’s okay. You’re not failing, you’re learning. That shift in mindset was necessary, though it forced me to let go of certain comforts. Transformative experiences are like that—welcome, yet tough.”
