Catherine O’Hara Missed Early Season 2 Filming of “The Studio” Before Passing Away

Just days before her unfortunate passing, Catherine O’Hara was absent from the initial days of filming for Season 2 of “The Studio”.

An insider associated with the AppleTV series disclosed to The U.S. Sun on Friday that production for the new season had kicked off last week. O’Hara was slated to be part of several scenes during this early phase.

“Her scenes were postponed as the filming schedule was adjusted to proceed without her character,” the insider explained.

Adjustments Made for Personal Reasons

It was mentioned that alterations to the filming schedule were made in light of some personal issues O’Hara was facing.

The insider expressed that it wasn’t common knowledge that O’Hara was battling any significant health problems or personal issues at that time.

According to the production insider, O’Hara unfortunately did not manage to film any scenes for the new season.

“Her passing was completely unexpected for everyone involved with the series,” the source continued. “Catherine was truly the heart of our team on set.

“Losing her is not just a tremendous loss for ‘The Studio,’ but for the entire global community. Her legendary status is unquestionable,” they added.

Catherine O’Hara’s Role and Achievements in “The Studio”

In “The Studio,” O’Hara took on the character of Patty Leigh, a Hollywood executive who turned to movie production following a scandalous removal from power.

She shared the screen with Seth Rogen, who not only acted but also created the series. Other main cast members included Chase Sui Wonders, Ike Barinholtz, and Kathryn Hahn, with guest appearances from stars like Martin Scorsese, Bryan Cranston, and Zoe Kravitz.

Her performance garnered her nominations at prestigious award ceremonies, including the Emmys, SAG Awards, and Golden Globes.

Recently, on January 11, Rogen praised his experience working with O’Hara and the ensemble cast in an Instagram post, captioned “It takes a village,” featuring a behind-the-scenes photo of him with O’Hara.

Catherine O’Hara’s Sudden Death

The beloved “Schitt’s Creek” star died last Friday at her Los Angeles residence following a “brief illness,” as confirmed by her representatives at Creative Artists Agency to Page Six. She was 71 years old.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to an emergency call from O’Hara’s home at approximately 4:48 a.m. and transported her to a hospital in a “serious” condition.

While her exact cause of death has not been disclosed, it is known that she had a rare anatomical condition known as Situs inversus, which is characterized by the mirroring of all internal organs to the opposite side of the body.
