Florence Pugh Expands Her Career to Include Modeling

Florence Pugh, known for her role in “Dune,” ventured into modeling at London Fashion Week. On Thursday evening, the 29-year-old actress debuted on the catwalk in a striking black sheer dress designed by Harris Reed for the fall 2025 collection.

The dress featured an innovative design with two horn-like structures extending from the chest, encircling Pugh’s face, which was obscured by a hood. This dramatic attire was complemented with black platform heels with open toes, along with gleaming gold earrings and a matching necklace.

To enhance the gothic theme, Pugh sported exceptionally long, spider-like eyelashes.

A Dramatic Opening at Tate Britain

Pugh wasn’t just a model at the event; she opened the show at Tate Britain with a captivating monologue while cellists played a Metallica piece in the background. The designer, Harris Reed, in an interview with British Vogue, explained that Pugh’s role was to embody a mythical, somewhat unsettling figure.

Reed expressed his desire for the show to evoke a sense of discomfort among the audience, encouraging them to introspect and question their perceptions and environment.

Pugh frequently selects Harris Reed’s designs for red carpet events, often opting for his signature sheer creations. She also appeared in Reed’s fall 2023 show, where she delivered a monologue influenced by Shakespeare’s “All The World’s A Stage.”

During her performance, Pugh discussed the transformative power of clothing, not just for actors but for anyone playing a role in the theater of life. She highlighted how fashion allows individuals to express their true selves and find a haven in a world that often judges outward appearances.

By adopting different styles, people have the opportunity to redefine their identities and fulfill their potential. Pugh ended her monologue with an invitation to the audience to “embrace the lamé and sequins of life,” celebrating the expressive and transformative nature of fashion.
