UPDATE (Oct. 7): Fuerza Regida recently revealed their second headliner, the renowned Mexican cumbia group Los Ángeles Azules.
Fuerza Regida, a band originating from San Bernardino, is blending Mexican music with rap in an innovative new venture. They recently announced their very first Don’t Fall In Love Fest, set to occur on November 2 at the NOS Event Center. This announcement, made last Thursday (Oct. 3), ties in with their latest album Pero No Te Enamores, which creatively mixes Jersey club and hip-hop with traditional corridos bélicos themes.
This festival marks a significant return for Fuerza Regida, as it will be their first performance in their hometown since 2018. The event promises a vibrant mix of talent featuring icons from the original California rap scene, fresh hip-hop artists, and major Latin music figures.
Joining the festival as the third headliner are cumbia legends Los Ángeles Azules, who will perform on the “Legends” stage, following Lil Baby who is the second headliner. The festival’s lineup is studded with high-profile performers including Kodak Black, Luis R. Conriquez, Chino Pacas, Sexy Red, Xavi, and Clave Especial. The stage will also host Los Rieleros del Norte, Mi Banda El Mexicano, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Too $hort, Roberto Tapia, Larry Hernandez, MC Magic, Baby Bash, and Lil Rob.
“I wanted to do something big for San Bernardino,” explained Jesús Ortiz Paz, better known as JOP and the frontman of Fuerza Regida, in a press release. “I’m bringing hope to the city with this festival.”
The band has received considerable acclaim and is a finalist in eight categories at the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards, including Artist of the Year, Top Latin Album of the Year, and Regional Mexican Album of the Year for their 2023 release Pa Las Baby’s Y La Belikeada. JOP is also nominated for Songwriter of the Year and Producer of the Year. Last year, Fuerza Regida made history by being the first Latin band to top Billboard’s year-end Top Artists – Duo/Group list.
Tickets for the Don’t Fall In Love Fest are now on sale.
