Hoda and Schiffman ended their relationship three years ago.

“Joel and I have spent a lot of time in prayer and had many meaningful discussions over the holidays, and we realized we’re better as friends and parents,” Hoda confirmed in January 2022, after she was seen without her engagement ring. She emphasized that nothing dramatic caused the split, stating, “They say some relationships are meant for a reason, a season, or a lifetime, and I believe ours was meant for a season.”

The couple, who started dating in 2013 and got engaged in 2019, adopted their daughters Haley and Hope in 2017 and 2019, respectively.

Since their split, Hoda has often praised Schiffman’s parenting abilities. In an interview with People magazine in August 2022, she detailed their co-parenting arrangement, explaining how they alternate weekends with the children. “He’ll have a Saturday, and I’ll do the Sunday.
