Legendary actress, environmental activist, and fitness icon—Jane Fonda needs no introduction. At the age of 87, she boasts a career that would make anyone envious. In addition to her impressive resume, she can also claim the title of a beauty icon. Since her debut in the 1960s, her various looks have been closely watched, dissected, and emulated. She has been a true source of inspiration for millions of women! So, when we had the chance to meet her in September 2025, during her time as a spokesperson for L’Oréal Paris, we couldn’t help but discuss the numerous hairstyles she has embraced throughout her journey.
From the mullet to the shag cut, and from long locks to trendy blowouts, Jane Fonda has tried every hairstyle imaginable. Among these, there is one that the actress particularly treasures. Drumroll, please… It’s the one she’s currently wearing—a charming wavy bob that highlights her natural hair color. “I’m very happy to have embraced my gray hair. We waste so much time and throw away money on chemical products to look like something we’re not!” she explained.
Committed to her silver mane, Jane Fonda refuses to dye her hair even for a role. Approximately two years before the conclusion of the series “Grace and Frankie,” the actress persuaded the scriptwriters to let her character age naturally. “I told the team: ‘I, Jane, want to go gray, so let’s include that in the script.’ And we did, making Grace’s hair turn gray as well. It was truly fun, and I’m so glad I was able to do it.“
For several years now, the star has been proudly showing off her gray lengths. The only downside: they are challenging to style. “I can’t do it myself,” she admits. “Of course, it was easier when I had long hair; I could just pull it back into a ponytail, but I really prefer this look on me. I hope you do too!“
