This bizarre French customer habit is driving shop owners crazy
Established in 1948, this well-known fragrance holds a special place in Karine Ferri’s heart. Here’s which one it is…
Everyone has a scent that can trigger memories from the past, acting as a sort of olfactory madeleine. For Karine Ferri, this is especially true as she recently shared her fondness for a childhood scent she holds dear. Although Cerruti 1881 has been her companion since her teenage years, another scent occupies an even more intimate place in her heart, reminding her of very precious moments.
In an interview with the latest issue of Télé 7 Jours, where she graces the cover, the TV host discussed various personal favorites, including her current favorite song, the last movie she watched, and the series she enjoys with her husband. When asked about the fragrance that takes her back to her childhood, she openly shared: “L’Air du Temps by Nina Ricci, which my mom used to wear.” More than just a perfume, this iconic fragrance represents a strong emotional connection to her childhood memories. Created in 1948, decades before her birth, this floral and spicy perfume remains one of the early classics of modern women’s perfumery.
Described as “a hymn to peace, love, and freedom“, L’Air du Temps by Nina Ricci captivates with a delicate balance between the freshness and softness of a floral bouquet, carried by the elegant strength of carnation. The composition starts with sparkling notes of peach, rose, carnation, rosewood, neroli, and bergamot, then unveils a rich heart featuring jasmine, gardenia, myrtle, ylang-ylang, orchid, iris root, violet, rosemary, and rose. The fragrance then continues with a warm base of musk, oakmoss, cedar, spices, benzoin, iris, sandalwood, vetiver, and amber.
It leaves behind a trail that is both feminine, sensual, and bold, remaining unchanged for over 75 years. It’s no wonder Karine Ferri’s mother was captivated by this olfactory signature, which is still available in perfumeries for generally less than $100!
