This 1997 Perfume is French Women’s Favorite – You Definitely Know It!

Update on :
Ce parfum sorti en 1997 est le préféré des Françaises - vous le connaissez forcément

A staple in the world of perfumery for over 25 years, this iconic fragrance was voted the favorite among French women in 2024.

The price comparison website Idealo recently revealed its rankings of favorite brands and products in women’s perfumes, just in time for Christmas gift shopping. Based on the most sought-after fragrances (by clicks) in October 2024, one intergenerational perfume has stood out from the rest. While “La Vie est Belle” has long held the title of French women’s favorite perfume, it has now been pushed to second place, trailing behind the likes of Chanel No. 5, Yves Saint Laurent’s Libre, Dior’s J’adore, Riminiscence’s Patchouli, Yves Saint Laurent’s Black Opium, Thierry Mugler’s Angel, Laffata’s Yara, and also Yvresse by Yves Saint Laurent.

So, which timeless scent has climbed to the top of the podium this year? It is none other than “Le Premier Parfum Eau de Parfum” by Lolita Lempicka, marking a remarkable comeback. Belonging to the floral oriental fragrance family, Le Premier Parfum by Lolita Lempicka starts with a powerful burst thanks to a blend of anise, cherry, and licorice. It then reveals a heart that is both sweet and floral, combining violet, orange blossom, and cistus. The base notes celebrate tonka bean, vanilla, praline, and musks. Designer Lolita Lempicka, who crafted this scent with Annick Ménardo, said about the perfume: “I created my first perfume by drawing on my deepest memories, to capture the intense moment when a girl anticipates becoming a woman“.

For Christmas, this immediately captivating, intensely seductive, and eternally appealing scent has even swapped its iconic purple dress for a golden bottle, still shaped like an apple. This limited edition “Midnight Bottle” is available on the brand’s website as well as at Sephora for about a hundred euros (specifically 145 euros for 100ml).
