An insider revealed that the appearance of these comedy giants was unplanned, as none of them were listed on the event schedule. They showed up individually or in groups, delighting the crowd at a venue famous for its celebrity drop-ins.
Preparations on Stage
Steve Martin seemed to be rehearsing a monologue when he was joined by Martin Short, his co-star from “Only Murders in the Building,” who reportedly showcased several impressions. Other comedians who took the stage included “SNL” veterans Chris Rock, David Spade, Colin Quinn, and Leslie Jones, as well as current cast member Marcello Hernandez.
The event further boasted performances by comedians Ray Romano, Aziz Ansari, and Nate Bargatze, adding to the night’s star-studded lineup.
The audience itself was filled with notable figures, including Woody Harrelson and “Borat” star Sacha Baron Cohen, adding even more glamour to the already sparkling event.
Upcoming Special: SNL 50: The Anniversary Celebration
This Sunday, the much-anticipated “SNL 50: The Anniversary Celebration” will be filmed at NBC’s iconic Studio 8H. The three-hour special promises to be a grand affair, featuring a mix of alumni and celebrities who have been integral to the show’s long-standing success.
Steve Martin, a frequent presence on the show, has appeared 35 times and hosted 16 of those episodes. Martin Short, who was part of the show’s cast in its 10th season, has hosted five times and is a member of the show’s “five timers club.” John Mulaney, another member of this exclusive club, has hosted five times as well and was a writer for the show from 2008 to 2013.
Behind the Scenes and Audience Engagement
When not performing, the comedians were spotted mingling with fans and relaxing at the Olive Tree, the restaurant above the Comedy Cellar. They were seen interacting with attendees and taking photos, adding to the night’s lively and electrifying atmosphere.
According to our insider, the whole evening buzzed with energy, making it a memorable night for both performers and audience alike.
