Comedy Show Producer Faults Jeff Garlin for Event Mishap

The producer behind the recent comedy event that Jeff Garlin abandoned is pointing fingers at the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” actor for the fiasco that unfolded.

According to earlier reports, Garlin opted out of performing his stand-up routine at the Calabasas Country Club last Thursday when his request to receive an $800 payment in cash was not met, with the organizers instead prepared to issue a check.

The event organizer contends that Garlin was unwilling to accommodate any attempts to correct the payment issue, which would have allowed him to proceed with his performance as scheduled.

The producer, who has been orchestrating shows at this upscale venue near Los Angeles for over a decade, shared with Page Six that Garlin had only once, two months prior to the event, specified his preference for cash payment.

When Garlin arrived and realized the miscommunication, the organizers immediately apologized and presented several options to resolve the payment issue, including the possibility of hand-delivering the cash to his residence the next morning or even arranging it by the end of his performance.

Despite these efforts, it’s reported that Garlin was not receptive to any of the proposed solutions and chose to leave the venue, disappointing the roughly one hundred audience members who had paid $60 each to see him perform.

“He never gave us a chance,” the producer lamented, choosing to remain anonymous.

He noted that the venue had recently hosted well-known comedians such as Tom Arnold, Billy Gardell from “Mike and Molly,” and Patrick Warburton from “Seinfeld.”

Having known Garlin for nearly four decades, the producer expressed both shock and disappointment over Garlin’s decision to walk out on the show.

The producer also voiced concerns over his job security with the country club following the incident, emphasizing, “I could lose my job over this, and he just could not have cared less. Not to mention the people who’d paid to see him.”

Attempts to reach representatives for Garlin for comment were unsuccessful.
