Drinking water is a great ally for weight loss! And if you drink it this way, you might even boost your calorie burning… A nutritionist says so!

In the search for effective weight loss solutions, some tips are both simple and readily available. Among these, daily water consumption stands out! Indeed, this habit is essential when you’re embarking on a weight loss journey. However, a renowned nutritionist suggests that the way you drink this water can significantly enhance its effectiveness.

To shed those troublesome pounds, several habits need to be established. Firstly, embrace a healthy and varied diet while being mindful of your fullness, engage in physical activities that you enjoy as often as possible, and also stay well-hydrated throughout the day. For optimal health, it’s crucial to drink about 1.5 to 2 liters of water daily, preferably still water. Remember, staying hydrated not only supports weight loss but also benefits your overall health and muscle function. Acting as a natural appetite suppressant and a detox agent, drinking water is definitely beneficial! On Instagram, Dr. Pierre Dukan has shared a video extolling the virtues of cold water for weight loss. Often touted as an effective means to burn calories and promote slimming, the specialist shares his insights on this topic.

“In a nutshell: your body adheres to a vital safety rule by preventing its temperature from dropping below 35°C. When you drink 1.5 liters of water from the refrigerator at 4°C and excrete it at 37°C, your body raises the temperature of 1.5 liters of water by 33°C, and in doing so, it burns about 50 calories. It might not seem like much, but if you do this every day for a year, you will see in this video that it can make a difference,” he writes under his post. By drinking cold water, your body could therefore burn slightly more calories.

Although the thermogenic effect of cold water is real, it is minimal and cannot lead to significant weight loss on its own. Moreover, this practice is not always recommended for health as it could disrupt digestion. In conclusion, drinking cold water may provide a small boost to caloric expenditure, but it should not be considered a standalone weight loss method. It’s better to focus on healthy and sustainable lifestyle habits for tangible results.
