SINGLE REVIEW: Lady Antebellum’s ‘Lay Our Flowers Down’ – Laura K
2017 has got off to a fantastic start for country music fans. We are only two months into the new year and we have already been treated to two brand new releases from US country trio Lady Antebellum.
January saw the group consisting of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley, Dave Haywood, release the jazz infused ‘You Look Good’, their first single in two years, and now we have been treated to another brand new track from the multi Grammy Award winners.
The song ‘Lay Our Flowers Down’ is taken from the official movie soundtrack for film The Shack, and it is an absolute tune.
The new Lady A release is more laid back than the sound they went for on their massive comeback single ‘You Look Good’, and Hillary’s beautiful vocals take centre stage. During the chorus the trio’s vocals blend together stunningly with Charles and Hillary taking the lead.
The song is really though provoking and shows yet another side to the Lady Antebellum, who will be releasing their new album ‘Heart Break’ this June.
‘Lay Our Flowers Down’ is simply sublime.
RATING 5/5.
