Ward Thomas Release ‘One More Goodbye’ Video
Today, (Friday, May 17th) British Country crossover superstars Ward Thomas have released the much anticipated music video for newest single ‘One More Goodbye’. The heartfelt Country ballad is the fifth official single to be lifted off their top-ten hit studio album ‘Restless Minds‘ which dropped back in February to mass critical acclaim.
The LP has a shinier pop production compared to the twins’ previous releases ‘From Where We Stand’ and record making number 1 ‘Cartwheels’, but lyrically it stays very much within the Country boundaries and ‘One More Goodbye’ is one of the purest Country tracks on the record.
It’s a poignant song about that bittersweet moment of when you have to leave a loved one for a period of time. It tells the story of just wanting to stay wrapped up in that final goodbye for as long as possible but knowing that you’ll have to walk out the door any second. It’s something everyone has experienced in some capacity and will no doubt resonate with listeners of all ages across the world.
The official music video which was shared by Ward Thomas today showcases the vibe and lyrics of the song perfectly. Filmed in the girls’ house in the Hampshire countryside the intimacy elevates the clip to exciting new levels and and poignancy which allows the song’s message to really hit home.
While the darkening grey skies of the rolling countryside give it a slight edge and the simple camera work and minimalist approach offer something totally different to the current music videos on the scene right now. The piano led track is one of the most heartfelt and personal single’s Catherine and Lizzy have ever shared and the cinematic, stripped back video keeps in line with that theme.
Speaking about the video and song, Ward Thomas say: “One More Goodbye is a song about savoring that last minute before having to walk out the door, it’s one of the most emotional tracks on the album and so shooting it in the personal setting our own home felt perfect. We hope you like it!!”
