Melanie Meriney – ‘Sober You’ Video Released
Melanie Meriney has this week released the official video for her fantastic ‘Sober You’ track. We featured the track on release earlier this year – and this was our view:
‘‘Sober You’ is an emotive and heartfelt track which draws you in and enables you to share the frustration and heartbreak of the singer, performed brilliantly by Melanie Meriney.’
The video is the perfect accompiement to the song, seeing the singer working in a bar, frustrated that her love interest is into someone else and drinking heavily on the back of it. The three and a half minute video tells the story of the song perfectly, as you see the emotional highs and lows the two central characters go through – with the love interest only interested when he’s had more than his share of drink – hence the lyric, ‘I’ll never get sober you’.
Followers of Belles and Gals will know all about Melanie Meriney due to her fabulous ‘Notes from Nashville‘ series!
Full Lyrics
Is it whiskey tonight, or is it something different?
What’s on your mind, about the girl you’re missing?
Her eyes, her smile, her silhouette?
I let you slur, let you vent, even though I know I’ll never get
Sober, sober, sober you
No, I’ll never get sober, sober, sober you
You say you’ll never be who you were
Say you’ll never get over her
So I’ll never get sober, sober, sober you
Sober you
Two-thirty again, you’re typing out that last-call text
About to hit send, and I know what happens next
You come over, cry over her leaving
You don’t know, you ain’t the only one tryin’ to let go, I’ll never get
Sober, sober, sober you
No, I’ll never get sober, sober, sober you
You say you’ll never be who you were
Say you’ll never get over her
So I’ll never get sober, sober, sober you
Sober you
I don’t say those words ’cause it’s not worth it
But we’d be perfect, so what hurts is
I’ll never get sober, sober, sober you
No, I’ll never get sober, sober, sober you
I’ll never get
Sober, sober, sober you
No, I’ll never get sober, sober, sober you
You say you’ll never be who you were
Say you’ll never get over her
So I’ll never get sober, sober, sober you
Sober you, sober you
Yeah, I’ll never get, I’ll never get
