This Friday sees the release of ‘Wildcard’, the brand new album from Miranda Lambert – and to celebrate, we’re going to feature one of our favourite songs from the Texas singer! Today, we’re going to start at the beginning, with ‘Kerosene’! This high energy track sees the 22 year old Miranda at her feisty best with the title track to her debut album. The song would reach the top 20 in the hot country chart, the only track from the album to achieve that mark – however, it was the start of something big for the artist, as the album would go on to sell over a million copies.
‘I gave it everything I had and everything I got was bad, Life ain’t hard but it’s too long to live it like some country song, Trade the truth in for a lie, cheating really ain’t a crime, I’m giving up on love cause love’s given up on me’
Looking back at Miranda from nearly a decade and a half ago, it’s clear that she had something special and was ready to make an impact on the country scene – however, I don’t think anyone knew what the extent of that impact would be. A further chapter in the Miranda Lambert story will be written on Friday!
