Darling West Release – ‘Make It Last’

Award winning American/ Folk duo Darling West released a second single from their upcoming album last Friday, and it definitely seems that spending time in California recently is influencing this talented Norwegian couple!
Just take a listen to “Make It Last” and I’m sure you will see what I mean. There’s a definite West Coast vibe going on, with Darling West saying of the track “We all wish for the longer Summer nights to last for ever, although deep inside we know we have things to deal with in the light of day” . As with their previous single ” Can’t Help It ” which we told you about recently (https://www.bellesandgals.com/2019/11/06/darling-west-new-music-news/) this song has a gorgeous dreamy feel, captured particularly beautifully I think in this live version, recorded out in the Norwegian backwoods.

Their album “We’ll Never Know Unless We Try” is released on 7th February via Jansen Records. Described as a mix of “top-down-wind in -the hair pop songs along with tear-jerker ballads “it’s a collection of songs which regularly pay tribute to heroes such as Fleetwood Mac, Jackson Browne and The Byrds while continuing to showcase their own trademark harmonies, melodies and all-round acoustic talent, Lucinda Williams coining the perfect phrase “Cosmic Folk” to describe their sound.
You can catch Darling West at London’s Americana Fest on Wednesday before they fly home to Norway for an extensive album release tour.
