Throwback Thursday – Máiréad and ‘Searching for Ghosts’
Welcome to a new feature on Belles and Gals, where we look back on some brilliant footage of some of our previous live shows! Today we head back to September of last year and one of our regular showcases at the Water Rats. The nigh featured a stellar line up of Rosey Cale, Lucy Blu and host Shannon Hynes, alongside Máiréad.
Máiréad is an incredibly talented artist who we are lucky enough to have as an ambassador for Belles and Gals. Her vocals are silky smooth and you can’t help but be mesmerised by that voice! It’s been a fantastic time for the London based Irish artist, as her latest single ‘If You Loved Me Once’ was playlisted by Spotify and currently sits on an incredible 60,000 streams, and there is little doubt that Máiréad has an incredible future ahead of her. ‘Searching for Ghosts’ is Máiréad’s first single and a track which is a firm favourite for anyone who has seen her play live – it’s atmospheric, draws you in from the first note and is a fantastic introduction to the artist if you’ve never heard her before.
