US country music sensation Sarah Darling has shared her latest cover from her ‘Campfire Sessions’ project. The series sees the Iowa native performing songs from years gone by that have helped make her into the artist she is today, she delivers these in a stripped-back acoustic way to ensure the renditions are unique to herself.
Her latest offering is a stunning take on the global smash hit from Shania Twain; ‘You’re Still The One’. This is one of the most recognizable songs from the 90s and is still much loved more than 20 years on from its original release. A huge breakout, this was one of the very first singles that put Shania well and truly on the map as an international superstar.
Now, Sarah Darling delivers her own beautiful take on the emotive ballad with a chilled-out acoustic rendition that will tug at your heartstrings like never before. Speaking about the cover and its connection to the current Coronavirus pandemic via social media, Sarah said: “This song has taken a deeper meaning to me, and It will be a glorious day when we get to hold each other again the way we want to”.
Lyrically the track has always been deeply emotional but during these tough times where many families and loved ones are separated due to social distancing and lockdown’s across the globe they take on an ever more emotive meaning, whilst the accompanying video from the Nashville based singer/songwriter signals a further emotional connection.
Along with sharing her emotionally charged rendition of ‘You’re Still The One’, Sarah Darling has also announced a string of forthcoming live-streams:
