Introducing Track45
Country music has brought us some fantastic family bands over the years, going right back to The Carter Family in the ’20s, and the most recent to be brought to my attention is sibling trio Track45.
Jenna, Ben and KK Johnson hail from Meridian, Mississippi but are now based in Nashville, and interestingly the three all worked their way separately to music city in pursuit of their dreams before coming together to form the band. Each earned their own success by signing individual publishing deals and compiling impressive writing credits for major artists including Justin Timberlake, Lauren Alaina and HARDY, with Ben recently earning his first No.1 as a songwriter with Lee Brice’s chart topper ” One Of Them Girls”. They share more about their back story, and the driving passion to succeed in the cut throat music business, in this video which as they say at the end, tells of ” where we’ve been, where we are and where we’re headed”.
It’s been an exciting few months for the new band with Track45 being signed to BBR Music Group/Stoney Creek Records in August and they are now readying for the release their debut EP ” Small Town ” on Stoney Creek Records next Friday, October 23rd. Not surprisingly they have songwriting credits on all three tracks, saying that ” we poured our hearts into this project, and we hope people love it as much as we do!” . The EP consists of the upbeat ” Come On In” which tells their back story , the instrumental groove ” Me +You” which is laced with steel guitar, and ” Met Me Now”, a more reflective write about the desire to reset time.
And it’s great news that the day after the EP drops they will play their their first ever live-streamed performance as part of the UK’s Country Music Week in a BBR/BMG showcase at 8pm on Saturday 24th October, alongside The Shires, Granger Smith and Elvie Shane.
