Introducing Dallas Remington… New Single “Wild In The Woods” Out Now!
Today we are featuring rising country artist Dallas Remington for the first time here at Belles and Gals, hot on the back of the release of her new single “Wild In The Woods” , co-written by Dallas, Chris Sligh and Mary Kutter, which is available digitally here http://smarturl.it/wildinthewoodsDR
The three writers were talking about the type of parties they would have once the pandemic is over, and true to her roots (Kentucky-born Dallas is a fifth generation farming family member) said she would be celebrating around a bonfire on the family farm. The upbeat, swampy song places the listener deep in the woods, miles away from the nearest bar or big city crowd, enjoying the simpler things with the people you love.
“It is always an awesome time when you get to write with someone you’ve grown up in the industry with” Dallas explains. “Mary Kutter and I have known each other since we were both very young and still commuting from Kentucky“. The song’s title was provided by Chris Sligh, who says “I heard a guy at Kroger in Springfield, TN tell someone ‘ I don’t drink anymore, I like to keep my wild in the woods’. I immediately wrote that down on my phone. When I met Dallas for the first time and she described what she wanted to write, that title fit perfectly!“.
Dallas’ passion for playing guitar and performing began at around 9 years old, she started performing in Nashville aged 11 and moved there four years later. Although she is a multi-instrumentalist, guitar and bass are her focus and her vocal talents are marked by her striking lyrics and textured phrasing. “Singing will always be a part of me” she says, “Whether I’m singing at church, on a flatbed trailer, or somewhere in Nashville, I love every minute“. As well as her original material, Dallas loves to perform traditional country songs from artists such as Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton, plus southern gospel and rock. Pre-pandemic, Dallas played an average of 100+ shows and events a year, both solo and full band sets, and looks forwards too getting back out on the road with several shows already booked across the States.
A prolific recording artist with many original songs released in recent years, the new single follows on from“Princess”, released earlier this year and which climbed rapidly on the radio charts with the video in support of the song featured on CMT already amassing over a million views on all platforms.
