“The Devil Wears Prada 2” Premieres in London

The much-awaited “The Devil Wears Prada 2” has finally landed in London, marking the last destination of its extravagant premiere tour.

The cast did not hold back on fashion statements for this UK event, which took place in Leicester Square.

In New York, Anne Hathaway embraced classic Old Hollywood style with a red satin tea-length dress by Louis Vuitton. However, for the London premiere, she switched gears with a bold, completely transparent corset outfit from Versace.

The dress, a rich navy blue velvet, boasted a strapless design with a daring slit down the front.

Details of Hathaway’s Outfit

The luxurious top part of the dress mimicked a deconstructed tuxedo, complete with a lapel-like feature at the chest and four prominent buttons aligned down the center.

Adding a hint of allure, sheer mesh panels along the sides revealed a touch of skin, integrated seamlessly with the corset’s structured boning.

Hathaway styled her hair in a sleek ponytail, drawing attention to her striking $67,000 Bulgari diamond and emerald Serpenti earrings, while opting to keep her neckline unadorned.

On the red carpet, Hathaway was seen posing with fellow cast members and Donatella Versace, who, although no longer the head designer, continues as the Chief Brand Ambassador and maintains a close friendship with Hathaway.

Previously, for her appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” Hathaway chose another vintage piece from Versace—a black long-sleeve mini dress paired with towering platform heels.

Versace highlighted this ensemble on Instagram, playfully noting, “@annehathaway is that the… ’91 Versace… Yes. Yes, it is. ,” echoing a memorable line from “The Devil Wears Prada.”

Hathaway’s Thematic Fashion Choices

The press tour’s wardrobe choices cleverly echo the themes of the movie, notably Hathaway’s power suit-inspired gown which reflects her character’s initial powerhouse outfit in the sequel.

The film’s first trailer shows Hathaway in a commanding ensemble of a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier pinstriped vest and trousers.

At the London premiere, Hathaway’s co-stars also captured attention. Emily Blunt appeared in a Balenciaga pants and top set in the film’s signature red color, accessorized with $1 million worth of Mikimoto diamonds and pearls.

Meryl Streep stayed true to the theme in a coordinated outfit of black pants, a white shirt, and a red satin coat and pumps, all from Prada.
