For the event, Sánchez Bezos selected a vintage black gown by Alexander McQueen, which featured elegant off-the-shoulder details.
The gown’s deep neckline served as a perfect showcase for her striking diamond necklace.
The eye-catching piece appeared to be a tennis necklace composed of sizable emerald-cut diamonds, highlighted by a prominent emerald-cut diamond pendant at the center.
She also wore large diamond drop earrings, which, although substantial, seemed small in comparison to her necklace.
Despite choosing a classic little black dress, her body-hugging and low-cut dress provoked some backlash.
“Money can’t buy class. Her style is just awful. Totally unsuitable,” commented a user on X.
“Show some respect, please. This is a state dinner, and you are 56 years old,” another person remarked, while another added, “The cost of her diamond could help many hungry children.”
At the same event, Melania Trump was dressed in black Dolce & Gabbana trousers paired with a white pussy bow blouse by Saint Laurent, while Ivanka Trump continued her preference for blue and white in a strapless, beaded gown by Georges Hobeika.
This was not the first instance where Sánchez Bezos has sparked debate over her fashion choices at the White House.
In 2024, the helicopter pilot faced criticism for wearing a sheer red corset dress that was quite revealing. The next year, she opted for a black dress with a similar silhouette to her most recent choice, yet she amped up the glam with a 200-carat emerald necklace designed by Lorraine Schwartz.
Additionally, her 2025 inauguration outfit, which included a white lace bra visible beneath her suit, drew significant attention. Despite the mixed reactions, the children’s book author expressed that she believed she “dressed conservatively” and was “extremely proud” of her appearance.
