Amal Clooney Stuns in Vintage Galliano During Lake Como Dinner with George and Kids

Amal Clooney dazzled onlookers in Italy.

At the scenic Villa Passalacqua on Lake Como, alongside her family, Clooney was spotted wearing a black vintage gown by John Galliano for a fundraising dinner hosted by the Clooney Foundation for Justice this past Tuesday.

The elegant slip dress, hailing from Galliano’s Fall/Winter 2004 collection, was adorned with floral embroidery and featured a striking chartreuse velvet bow wrapped around the midsection.

The accomplished lawyer and human rights advocate complemented her ensemble with flowing gold drop earrings and large Chloé sunglasses, while toting a burgundy woven leather handbag.

Accompanied by her 8-year-old son Alexander, who was dressed in a beige suit and sandals, they held hands. Her daughter Ella, accompanied by her father George Clooney, who opted for a pale gray suit, was also present.

Amal’s penchant for vintage fashion is well-documented. Just last month, she was seen wearing a vintage suede dress by Thierry Mugler during a day out in Capri with her spouse.

Earlier in the spring, she showcased a metallic gold Alexander McQueen gown, a piece that had previously been worn by Cameron Diaz nearly two decades earlier.

The selection of John Galliano for her outfit was particularly timely, as it was just announced that the 2027 Met Gala will pay tribute to Galliano’s designs, a decision that has sparked debate.

Clooney has consistently shown admiration for Galliano’s creations, frequently choosing his designs for public appearances and having worked in the past with Alexis Roche, Galliano’s long-term partner and stylist.

With this ongoing affinity for Galliano’s work, it’s likely we might see her at the Met Gala next May.
