Dancing with the Stars’ Val Chmerkovskiy Endures Mid-Flight Kidney Stone Ordeal, Posts Shocking Image

Val Chmerkovskiy experienced the ordeal of passing a kidney stone during a flight.

The “Dancing With the Stars” professional dancer took to Instagram Stories to detail the painful event and posted a vivid image of the stone, describing the episode as “brutal.”

“Never thought I’d pass a kidney stone on my flight back, but life had other plans,” Chmerkovskiy joked on Sunday. “This little guy was quite the charmer, pea-sized, with his dad’s eyes,” he added humorously.

A Painful Journey

Chmerkovskiy began his tale by mentioning a minor pain in his side and back that started after he landed in Spain.

He experienced worsening pain overnight, which by morning felt like “throbbing and stabbing.” “I couldn’t tell if I needed the bathroom or if it was something more severe, but my back and side were in AGONY,” he explained. He attempted to alleviate the pain by walking, but it was futile.

In an unusual move for him, Chmerkovskiy decided to visit a hospital because the severe pain left him unsure of what else to do.

He recounted the hospital visit, “Had some tests done. They found blood in my urine, diagnosed a urinary infection likely from a kidney stone, gave me antibiotics and pain relief.”

After the treatment, the co-founder of Dance With Me Studios felt relief and was back to feeling normal, performing impressively at a significant event the next day.

The Stone’s Unexpected Exit

However, while flying back home, Chmerkovskiy suddenly felt “a little something” and rushed to the restroom, where he discovered and captured the image of the stone.

Determined to avoid future incidents, he vowed, “I’m never eating sweets or ultra-fried/greasy foods again,” emphasizing the statement in capital letters.

Despite the ordeal, Chmerkovskiy attended the “Thunderbolts” premiere the following day with his wife, Jenna Johnson, both appearing cheerful.

The couple, who both star on “Dancing With the Stars,” have been married since April 2019. They walked the red carpet confidently, with Chmerkovskiy in a sleek tuxedo and Johnson, 31, in a stunning white dress with a deep neckline.

Together, they are parents to their 2-year-old son Rome, who was born almost four years after their wedding in Palos Verdes, California.
