This bizarre French customer habit is driving shop owners crazy
“It was after hearing my friends complain about sore thighs after a wild night that I got the idea,” explains sex therapist Aude Sieminski.
Blending physical exercise with sexual activity? At first glance, the concept might seem whimsical or even counterproductive. Can one truly enjoy themselves while experiencing physical strain? Conversely, is it possible to effectively tone your muscles while experiencing pleasure? For sex therapist Aude Sieminski, the answer is clear: “When you have sex, you’re essentially engaging in a physical workout! This realization came to me after my friends told me about their sore thighs following a night of passion.” After careful consideration, she developed a genuine bedroom workout regime in collaboration with a fitness coach.
“The idea is to favor certain positions depending on which part of the body you want to target,” she explains. To make it more engaging, the sexologist transformed her concept into a card game called “Work me out.” The game includes “warm-up” cards like push-ups with a kiss at each descent, and “training” cards that illustrate which positions to adopt, along with details on the muscles each will exercise. Get ready, for instance, for squats that really make an impact! There are also “Hot” cards to add challenges and spice up the exercises. “I recommend drawing two or three cards at most, and sticking with them even if they seem tough. The goal isn’t to immediately master a perfect ‘handstand’, but to at least try. If it’s not working or if you’re uncomfortable, of course, you should stop. But honestly, with good cushions and some help from your partner, and by progressing gradually, anyone can do it.”
But is it exercise, or is it love-making? “First and foremost, it’s about making love! But you integrate certain positions into your routine to also benefit your body,” Sieminski clarifies. So, there’s no need to turn your intimate moments into torture sessions! “It’s simply a way to enhance couple’s well-being, allowing them to stay fit while enjoying themselves, and thus becoming more enduring partners over time. And even though it might sound funny, it also fosters connection.” Considering that both sports and sex release endorphins and dopamine into our bodies, this combination seems like a perfect recipe for success!
The Best Position for Flexibility
Aude Sieminski recommends a simple doggy style to maintain flexibility. Start with legs at a 90-degree angle, then lower down to bring your pelvis to the ground while pushing your hips up. It’s excellent for working the adductors and back.
The Position to Strengthen Your Abs
For this, try the centaur position. It’s a great posture for strengthening the core as you lift your torso (ideally without cushions), just like in traditional crunches. Plus, you can sneak in a little kiss!
The Best Position for Toning Your Thighs
Definitely, the chair! Here, both partners get a workout—the one acting as the chair, and the other standing up and sitting down, essentially performing squats. If it’s too challenging, don’t hesitate to lean against a wall or use a chair for support.
The Best Position for Strengthening Your Arms
The “Handstand balance” is unbeatable for this. Supporting yourself on your hands requires strong arm engagement, especially when absorbing movements! Your partner can lift you, thereby easing the load, and perhaps even sneak in some pleasurable acts!
The Best Position for Core Engagement
The downward-facing dog engages all upper body muscles for excellent strength training. Adding a twist also works the obliques. And don’t forget to push your hips up, which your partner will surely appreciate!
