Emily Blunt, reprising her role as the sharp-tongued assistant to the formidable Miranda Priestly, was spotted on the New York City set this past Thursday sporting a look that was a far cry from her usual appearance.
The actress debuted a platinum blond bob, a drastic shift from her character’s iconic fiery red locks.
The reasons behind Charlton’s bold new hairdo remain a mystery. It’s uncertain whether this change is tied to a specific storyline, represents a psychological unraveling, or is part of a flashback scene. There’s also a chance she’s donning the new hair as a disguise for a role at the fictional Runway magazine.
Blunt paired her new hair color with a whimsical Coach sweater that featured an apple design labeled with “NY,” a nod perhaps to tourist chic. She accessorized with a flashy silver tie.
Blunt was initially observed in vivid red trousers, but she later changed into tights and a black skirt by Maison Margiela for the shooting.
Completing her ensemble, Blunt donned platform loafers from Gianvito Rossi and ankle socks, perfect for the autumn season.
Star-Studded Set
At 42, Blunt made her eagerly anticipated return to the set last month alongside co-stars Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep, where she was seen flaunting her character’s traditional red hair.
Her outfit for the day included a Dior shirt and sunglasses, paired with a Wiederhoeft bustier top priced at $2,200, pinstripe pants by Jean Paul Gaultier, and shoes by Brandon Blackwood.
The sequel has also welcomed back familiar faces like Hathaway, Streep, and Stanley Tucci, alongside newcomers such as Patrick Brammall, Pauline Chalamet, and Simone Ashley, who have all been involved in the filming process.
Returning director David Frankel takes the helm once again for the sequel, which features a storyline where Charlton squares off against Priestly in a battle over print media advertising revenues, according to IMDB.
It’s time to dust off those Chanel boots in anticipation.
