Isabelle Ithurburu Opens Up About Her Late Bloomer Sports Journey

Isabelle Ithurburu has become a familiar face on French television, currently steering the show 50′ Inside. However, she spent many years anchoring various sports programs, shining brightly in a field that was initially far from her personal interests.

Interestingly, it wasn’t until the age of 30 that Isabelle Ithurburu began to engage in regular physical activity. She shared this revelation during an interview on Le Salon VIP broadcasted by beIN Sports. Despite her deep involvement in the sports broadcasting industry, she admitted to being more of a “couch athlete,” humorously stating, “I can’t say I am a great sportswoman, I’m more of a couch sportsperson.” She explained that her early relationship with sports was primarily as an avid viewer: “When I started at Infosport, it was a channel I watched a lot. I loved watching sports, but I didn’t really participate until the last ten years.”

Since then, Isabelle Ithurburu’s lifestyle has undergone a significant transformation. She now frequents the gym regularly, where she participates in diverse workout sessions under the guidance of a coach. Her motivation for staying active is centered around aging gracefully: “Eventually, I got into it because I needed to build muscle,” she shared with a smile in a conversation with host Claire Arnoux, adding, “I started working out in the last ten years to stay fit, to ease back pain during cold or rainy days.”

Isabelle Ithurburu, who is in a relationship with Maxime Nucci, didn’t entirely discover sports later in life. In fact, she was engaged in Basque folk dancing from the age of 6 to 22, a significant part of her youth. She humorously acknowledges today, “I often forget to mention that it’s actually a sport.”

Her journey reveals how one can develop a passion for physical activity at any stage of life, transforming from a passive spectator to an active participant, all while maintaining a sense of humor and realism about the process.
