Jennifer Lopez recently revealed a striking platinum blonde look, channeling classic Old Hollywood glamour in the freshly released trailer for “The Kiss of the Spider Woman.”

In the movie musical’s dreamlike sequences, the star exhibits her versatile allure, portraying Ingrid Luna, also known as Aurora or the Spider Woman. Her appearance is transformed with flowing Veronica Lake-inspired curls, finely drawn brows, and vivid red lips, marking a significant departure from her typical sun-kissed, bronzed makeup style.

Lopez further embraces transformation with another bold look featuring a jet-black bob cut with edgy, spiked bangs, reminiscent of Louise Brooks and Winona Ryder’s appearance in “Beetlejuice.” This style complements the movie’s darker themes and its narrative of parallel worlds.

First Glimpses and Fashion Highlights

The initial images from the film, shared on Wednesday, also highlight the stunning costumes designed by Colleen Atwood, a four-time Oscar winner known for her designs in films such as “Chicago,” “Memoirs of a Geisha,” and “Alice in Wonderland.”

At 56, Lopez dazzles as a quintessential movie star, adorned in a shimmering liquid-gold gown paired with metallic pumps, and a sequined, cap-sleeve dress featuring flapper-style fringe ideal for the dancefloor.

The Bronx native also showcases her flair in a show-stopping, acid-green mini dress with a coordinating cropped jacket, complemented by an emerald necklace.

The film, directed by Bill Condon of “Dreamgirls” fame, stars Lopez alongside Diego Luna and includes producers like Ben Affleck, from whom Lopez separated last year.

Anticipation for “Spider Woman” is high following its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, where an early version of the film received a standing ovation. The movie is set to release on October 10.
