Laila Ali has a penchant for self-improvement books.
“I’m drawn to books that enhance some part of my life, be it parenting, health, business, or personal growth,” the professional boxer shared with Page Six.
Ali, who recently released “A Spark of Greatness,” noted that a book makes it to her shelf if it leaves her feeling enriched for having read it.
“A Spark of Greatness,” illustrated by Cozbi A. Cabrera, is a picture book autobiography that chronicles her journey from Muhammad Ali’s daughter to an undefeated boxing champion.
Ali’s favorite reading spot?
“There’s no better place than cozying up on the sofa with a hot coffee and immersing myself in a great book,” the author revealed.
Below are some of Ali’s top book recommendations.
“Body Intelligence” by Dr. Romeo Brooks
“This book demands accountability because once you learn something, you can’t unlearn it. It succinctly explains how our bodies work daily in our favor and has reinforced many of my healthy habits by deepening my understanding of their importance.”
“Fast Like a Girl” by Dr. Mindy Pelz
“This book is essential for every woman. It grounded me in my fasting practices and I value how it ties together hormones, diet, and health in a pragmatic, empowering way.”

“Wanderlust” by Danielle Steel
“I first encountered this book at 16, and it remains a favorite. Its portrayal of a woman who defies expectations to seek adventure and self-discovery resonated with me. I’m planning to revisit it soon to experience the story from a new perspective.”
“The Inner Game of Tennis” by W. Timothy Gallwey
“This book transcends tennis. It’s a profound guide on silencing doubts, fostering self-trust, and overcoming personal barriers. Its lessons apply across sports, business, and general life, offering timeless wisdom.”

“The 12 Week Year” by Brian P. Moran and Michael Lennington
“This revolutionary approach to productivity and goal achievement has reshaped my perspective. Although I’m still refining my application of its principles, the concept of focusing on a 12-week span rather than an entire year continues to motivate me.”
“The 5 Love Languages of Children” by Gary Chapman and Ross Campbell
“A must-read for parents. This book highlighted the unique emotional needs of each of my children and inspired me to focus more on understanding and meeting these needs individually.”
