During the Covid-19 lockdown, “Love Island USA” celebrity Jeremiah Brown rekindled his passion for reading.
“Being alone with myself was tough, and I realized I wasn’t happy with who I was. Turning to books helped me transform,” Brown, who now leads a popular book club and is a prominent figure on BookTok, shared with Page Six.
The former reality star mentioned that his reading journey has profoundly altered his outlook on life, explaining that books have given him “a second chance at life.”
Below are Brown’s top six book recommendations:
“Ego is the Enemy” by Ryan Holiday
“This book was a turning point for me as I worked on gaining a new perspective. It taught me the importance of growth in areas I previously overlooked and how to handle trivial issues without letting my ego get in the way.”
“When Things Fall Apart” by Pema Chödrön
“This book is a game-changer. I picked it up after a tough breakup, and it revolutionized how I view relationships. It taught me that challenges are opportunities for growth and every tough situation is a potential lesson.”
“The Mountain Is You: Transforming Self-Sabotage Into Self-Mastery” by Brianna Wiest
“This book was eye-opening. It made me realize I clung to old habits because they were comfortable. It taught me that comfort often holds us back from success and that monitoring and surpassing my own standards for happiness and success is essential for growth.”
“The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom” by Don Miguel Ruiz
“This is another favorite that significantly changed my mindset. The four agreements provided me with mental freedom and shattered many self-limiting beliefs, helping me to live more freely and truly according to these principles every day.”
“The Hate U Give” by Angie Thomas
“I explored this book with my book club recently, and it deeply moved me, reminding me of my own experiences with activism. It’s a powerful reminder not to become complacent, regardless of personal success, and to stay aware of ongoing injustices.”
“The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck” by Mark Manson
“I read this shortly after moving to LA to pursue modeling. It taught me to focus on what truly matters, cutting through the clutter of minor worries and refining my core values and goals into something meaningful.”
