Matt Damon was hardly recognizable as he showcased his muscular physique on the set of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming movie “The Odyssey.”

Page Six obtained photos of the actor on Favignana Island in Italy, where he was seen filming scenes with his well-defined muscles prominently displayed on Tuesday.

A shirtless Damon wore a lengthy gray beard and brown trousers, fully embodying the character of Odysseus.

At 54 years old, Damon was spotted discussing scenes with Nolan just before filming commenced.

During breaks, the Academy Award-winning actor slipped into a black puffer jacket for warmth.

He also took some time to relax by the shore while the crew arranged the cameras for upcoming shots.

When Page Six reached out for a comment about the photos, Damon’s representative did not immediately reply.

Zendaya, Damon’s co-star, appeared on set later.

The 28-year-old “Euphoria” actress wore a long, toga-style dress and seemed cheerful as she engaged with the crew members.

She styled her hair in a braided look with a center part.

This grand fantasy film, inspired by Homer’s renowned Greek epic, also features performances from Zendaya’s fiancé Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, and Lupita Nyong’o.

Earlier in the month, Damon, sporting the beard, supported his friend Ben Affleck at the premiere of “Accountant 2” during the SXSW festival.

An observer told Page Six that although Damon arrived separately from Affleck, he joined him on the carpet and posed for photographs with his long-time collaborator.

Affleck expressed his desire to GQ to “visit Matt on the set [of ‘The Odyssey’] just to see Nolan at work.”

He also mentioned that Damon’s current role involved extensive stunt preparation.

“It’s all about mastering the fight scenes. We’re talking about ‘Bourne Identity’ level intensity,” Affleck hinted.

Damon is no stranger to committing fully to his roles. In 2019, Page Six exclusively reported that Damon performed a stunt where he was set on fire while portraying race car driver Carroll Shelby in “Ford v. Ferrari.”
