The music world mourns the loss of Ike Turner Jr., the son of iconic musicians Tina Turner and Ike Turner, who has passed away at age 67, as reported by Page Six.

The sad news was confirmed by Tina’s niece, Jacqueline Bullock, through a heartfelt statement.
“We are deeply saddened to share the news of my cousin Ike Turner Jr.’s demise,” Bullock stated. “Junior was not just a cousin to me but more like a brother, having grown up together under the same roof of fame.”
“Being the child of Tina and Ike Turner, Junior showed a natural affinity for music from a young age. Although he initially gravitated towards the drums, his mother, Tina, would insist he dismantle his drum set after each session, which eventually led him to develop a passion for playing the keyboard. Over the years, he also played a significant role in managing Bolic Sound Studios, the studio established by his father,” Bullock further explained.

“Despite facing numerous personal challenges, he rose to become a respected sound engineer and musician, earning a Grammy for Best Traditional Blues Album in 2007 with his father’s ‘Risin’ With The Blues,'” she added.
Bullock concluded her statement by expressing gratitude for the condolences received from fans and friends, and requested privacy for the family during this difficult time.
Ike Jr.’s cause of death was kidney failure, according to TMZ. He had also been dealing with serious heart conditions for many years, which had seen his health deteriorate, Bullock revealed to the media outlet.
Tina had legally adopted Ike Jr. and his brother Michael from Ike Sr.’s former relationship with Lorraine Taylor when they were young. Ike Jr. carved out a successful path in the music industry, working closely with both of his famous parents. After Tina separated from Ike Sr., Ike Jr. served as her sound engineer.
“Tina raised me since I was two years old. She’s the only mother I’ve ever known,” Ike Jr. expressed in a 2018 interview with the Daily Mail.
However, his relationship with Tina, known for hits like “Proud Mary,” was strained, and they had become estranged prior to her death in May 2023 from natural causes.
“My mother is living her life — she has a new husband and she’s in Europe. She doesn’t want to deal with the past,” he mentioned in the same interview.
In June 2023, Ike Jr. faced legal troubles when he was arrested for possession of crack cocaine and tampering with evidence.
At the time of Tina’s passing at the age of 83, Ike Jr. was incarcerated.
Ike Sr., also a legendary figure in the music industry, passed away in December 2007 from a drug overdose after a long battle with cocaine addiction. He was 76.
