Snoop Dogg Announces Tupac Feature in Upcoming Video Game!

The Dolby Theatre is usually associated with the glamour of the Academy Awards, yet on a bright Friday at the “Summer Game Fest,” the real celebrities were the luminaries of the video game industry.

Launched by Geoff Keighley, the same visionary behind The Game Awards — frequently dubbed the “Oscars of Gaming” — the event saw an enthusiast completely overlook Grammy-winner Zedd to eagerly request a picture with Patrice Désilets, the mastermind behind “Assassin’s Creed.”

The audience was treated to an unexpected visit from Snoop Dogg, who came to promote “Stranger Than Heaven,” a forthcoming adventure game infused with music, produced by Sega and RGG. This game not only features Snoop and singer Tori Kelly, but also, astonishingly, the late Tupac Shakur. “Working closely with Tupac’s estate, my son, and me, it felt natural to include him in the game, as his legacy truly endures,” Snoop explained, to enthusiastic cheers. He also shared updates about his own venture, Death Row Games, hinting at a soon-to-be-unveiled hip-hop gaming universe.

Meanwhile, “Community” actress Yvette Nicole Brown and “Yellowjackets” actress Liv Hewson introduced their latest project, an animated show titled “Among Us,” inspired by the popular game. This game gained additional fame after being featured in a notable scene from “Knives Out: Glass Onion.” (How much more meta can it get?)

Key game reveals at the Summer Game Fest included the remake of “Resident Evil Veronica,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin” — the debut endeavor from the joint studio of Paramount Skydance — and “Final Fantasy VII: Revelation.”
