Key Dates for Specialization Exams
In 2025, the written exams for specialization subjects will occur on Tuesday, June 17, Wednesday, June 18, and Thursday, June 19. In the same month, students will also undertake their major oral exam.
Exam Structure for Specialization Subjects
Students will be tested over two days, with one exam per day, each focusing on one of the two specialization subjects they have chosen to continue in their senior year. The content of these exams will be consistent with the curriculum for each discipline as defined for the final year of high school, according to the education ministry.
Weight of Specialization Exams
Each of the two specialization exams carries a coefficient of 16, making up 32% of the final grade, as stated on the government’s education website.
Choosing Specialization Subjects
Students in general and technological tracks must select three specialization subjects in their sophomore year. These choices are guided by the students’ interests, motivations, and future academic or career plans. This approach helps students explore new areas and better prepare for their post-high school education. By senior year, students continue with only two of these subjects for their final exams.
