The tragic early demise of “Friends” star Matthew Perry has given rise to a criminal investigation surrounding the circumstances of his death.

An original film titled “Matthew Perry: A Hollywood Tragedy” delves into this somber event, featuring Morgan Fairchild—who portrayed his mother on “Friends”—and includes interviews with law enforcement officials exploring the ongoing case.

Five individuals were indicted in relation to Perry’s death in 2023 at the age of 54. This group includes his personal assistant, two physicians, and a woman known as the “Ketamine Queen” of Hollywood. Out of the five, three have admitted guilt, while the cases against the other two are still in process.

This one-hour documentary is set to premiere on February 25, 2025.

In his autobiography, “Friends, Lovers, and The Big Terrible Thing,” Perry opened up about his struggles with addiction and his journey towards recovery.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office concluded that Perry’s death was caused by “acute effects of ketamine” followed by drowning.

The documentary, directed by Robert Palumbo and produced by Ian Russell, Mike Griffiths, and Robert Palumbo of ITN Productions, intertwines the story of Perry’s ascension in Hollywood with the events leading up to his untimely end. It features insights from Perry’s colleagues, entertainment industry insiders, and law enforcement officials.
