Forget about typical tunnel outfits; Timothée Chalamet is turning Celebrity Row into his personal fashion runway.

Born and raised in New York, Chalamet has been a Knicks fan all his life, well before his rise to stardom in Hollywood. This playoff season, he’s ramping up his game by dressing the part.

Chalamet, now 29, was merely three years old the last time the Knicks contended in the NBA Championship. This season, they’re close to reaching the finals again, pending their victory in the current series against the Indiana Pacers.

At first glance, the Oscar nominee’s courtside attire of tracksuits and work boots might appear laid-back, but there’s a deeper story behind his game-day fashion choices.

For instance, consider his footwear. On May 16th, Chalamet arrived at Madison Square Garden sporting a pair of Timberland boots customized with crosses in Knicks blue and orange—a special order from the high-end, high-priced brand Chrome Hearts, arranged by his stylist, Taylor McNeill.

While ordinary Timberlands might cost less than $200, these boots, as part of a Chrome Hearts collaboration, can fetch between $19,000 to $30,000 on the resale market at Grailed.

For Game 6 of the semifinals against the Celtics—which advanced the Knicks to the Eastern Conference Finals—Chalamet paired his boots with a bespoke navy velour tracksuit highlighted with orange stripes and the brand’s iconic crosses.

He added an orange-and-blue striped polo, collar popped, evoking a preppy vibe reminiscent of his wardrobe in “Call Me By Your Name.”

Chalamet sported the eye-catching boots again on May 22, this time with vibrant orange Chrome Hearts jeans adorned with red crosses; a similar style is currently listed for around $22,000 on Grailed.

On May 23, for Game 2 against the Pacers, he opted for a celestial edge in a custom Miracle Academy T-shirt by Nahmias paired with a blue-and-orange Chrome Hearts hat valued at approximately $2,000.

And when traveling to Indianapolis on March 25, Chalamet was seen in a $4,200 Chrome Hearts shirt and electric blue jeans from the same brand, showcasing his expensive taste.

Chrome Hearts, with just 10 physical stores in the US and limited online availability, is notorious for its staggering prices. However, it’s the brand’s resale allure that really elevates its exclusivity to new heights.

On the Chrome Hearts website, shoppers can find a three-pack of socks for $220 or a single pair of boxer briefs for $85. The label also ventures into homeware, collaborating with Baccarat to offer crystal decanters priced at $3,825 and ashtrays for $2,815.

Among the brand’s celebrity enthusiasts are the entire Kardashian-Jenner clan. At the 2025 Met Gala, Kim donned a bespoke leather gown by Chrome Hearts, Kourtney was spotted pushing baby Rocky in a gothic black leather stroller, and Kylie—Chalamet’s girlfriend—was seen carrying a $36,000 cross-adorned leather tote to the beach.

According to eBay data shared with Page Six Style, Chrome Hearts ranked among the top brands in 2024 for average pre-owned sales price growth over the past five years, alongside other luxury names like Dior, Gucci, Fendi, Off-White, and Louis Vuitton.

The volume of Chrome Hearts items sold on eBay globally surged by more than 50% from January 2024 to October of the same year.

With the Knicks aiming to even the series tonight before heading back to NYC on Thursday, it’s likely Chalamet is already planning his next courtside look for Game 5—and chances are, it will be adorned with crosses.
