A new documentary series delves into the less glamorous aspects of the 1990s boy band craze.
Joey Fatone, a former member of *NSYNC, is an executive producer of the series “Boy Band Confidential,” which debuts tonight, April 13, on Investigation Discovery (ID).
According to a press release from ID, the series reveals “how the industry turned young artists into profitable entities while uncovering hidden stories of abuse, addiction, and financial exploitation,” featuring “candid, unedited interviews with some of the top pop icons.”
“Being part of a boy band was one of the best times of my life, but it also presented challenges that we didn’t fully grasp back then,” Fatone explained in the release. “This project allowed all of us to look back, be candid, and share the real stories that happened away from the limelight.”
